얼 그랜트는 1933년 미국 오클라호마주에서 태어나 50년대와 60년대에 활동한 이지 리스닝 피아니스트와
오르가니스트를 겸한 뛰어난 가수다.
그는 정통 음악 교육을 받은 학구파로서 감각적이고 날렵한 Organ 솜씨를 보였고 창조적이고 눈부신 Technic의 Piano 연주로당대 최고 건반악기 연주자로 이름을 날렸다.

음악 선생을 하던 그는 아르바이트로 군 복무시절부터 클럽에서 노래했는데 1958년 Decca Records사와 계약을 맺고 그의 첫 레코드인 The End를 발표, 그해 차트 7위에 오르며 그의 대표곡이 되었다.

그는 Mood를 한껏 돋우는 Melody 작곡에 탁월했고 개성이 흠뻑 묻어나는 노래를 직접 부르는 아티스트로
음악적인 모든 면에서 진정한 Musician으로 불렀다.
그러나 그는 음악적으로 절정의 경지에 있던 1970년 11월 7일, 40세라는 아까운 나이에 자동차 사고로 사망하여 그를 아끼는 많은 팬들을 안타깝게 했다.
